Bacon & Mushroom Tart

Our Bacon and Mushroom Tart Recipe combines the earthy goodness of mushrooms with the smoky taste of bacon for a tasty tart that will impress family and friends.


  1. 1 puff pastry sheet (approx ½ roll)

  2. 350g fresh mushrooms, chopped

  3. 1 packet (250g) Woody’s Premium Cut Bacon, sliced

  4. 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  5. 1 egg, whisked

  6. Fresh sage leaves to garnish

  7. Salt & pepper to season


  1. Pre-heat oven to 200˚C.

  2. Roll the puff pastry into a rectangle and brush with the whisked egg.

  3. Line a greased baking tray with the pastry and bake blind until golden brown (± 25-30 minutes).

  4. Fry the bacon in a medium skillet over medium heat, until crisp, and transfer to a paper towel.

  5. Fry the onion, then add the garlic and the mushrooms. Stir in the bacon.

  6. Scatter over the pre-baked crust and top with sage.

  7. Serve this Bacon and Mushroom Tart Recipe with cream cheese.
